At UK E-Books, we want you to have a positive experience when purchasing our digital e-books. Because our products are digital content delivered electronically, returns work differently from physical books.
This Return & Refund Policy explains when refunds, replacements, or other remedies may be available.
1. Digital Products
All e-books purchased through UK E-Books are supplied as digital products.
Once an e-book has been successfully delivered or made available for download, it cannot be physically returned.
However, this does not affect any statutory rights you may have under applicable UK consumer law.
2. Change-of-Mind Purchases
Because e-books are digital content, your cancellation rights may be affected once you request immediate delivery and the digital content begins to be supplied.
Where applicable UK consumer law allows a cancellation right, we will provide the relevant information and obtain any required acknowledgement before immediate digital supply begins.
If you change your mind after digital content has been supplied and your statutory cancellation right has been validly lost, we may not be required to provide a refund.
Nothing in this policy removes or limits consumer rights that cannot legally be excluded.
3. Faulty or Corrupted E-Books
If an e-book you purchased is:
- Corrupted or damaged;
- Unable to be downloaded because of a problem on our side;
- In an advertised format but does not function as reasonably expected;
- Missing substantial content;
- Significantly different from the product description; or
- Otherwise defective,
please contact us as soon as reasonably possible.
We will investigate the issue and, where appropriate, may provide:
- A replacement copy;
- A new download link;
- A corrected version of the e-book;
- A repair or other appropriate remedy; or
- A refund where required by applicable law.
4. Incorrect E-Book Supplied
If you receive an e-book that is different from the product you purchased, please contact us.
We will verify your order and, where the error is ours, provide the correct digital product or another appropriate remedy.
5. Download Problems
If you have paid for an e-book but cannot access or download it, please contact our customer support team.
Before requesting a refund, we may attempt to resolve the issue by:
- Providing a new download link;
- Re-sending the purchase email;
- Checking your order and account;
- Providing an alternative compatible file where available; or
- Troubleshooting the download issue.
If the problem cannot reasonably be resolved and you are entitled to a remedy under applicable law, we will provide the appropriate remedy.
6. Device Compatibility
You are responsible for checking that your device, operating system, browser, e-reader, and reading application are compatible with the format of the e-book before purchasing.
We cannot normally provide a refund solely because an e-book is incompatible with a device or application where the product was correctly supplied and the compatibility information was available before purchase.
If the compatibility information provided by us was inaccurate or misleading, please contact us so that we can investigate.
7. Duplicate Purchases
If you accidentally purchase the same e-book more than once, please contact us as soon as possible.
We will review the order history and circumstances and determine whether a refund for the duplicate purchase is appropriate.
8. Refund Requests
To request a refund or report a problem with an e-book, please contact us with:
- Your full name;
- Email address used for the purchase;
- Order number;
- Name of the e-book;
- Date of purchase; and
- A description of the problem.
Where relevant, we may ask you to provide additional information or screenshots so that we can investigate the issue.
9. Refund Processing
Where a refund is approved, we will generally issue it using the original payment method where reasonably possible.
The time it takes for a refund to appear in your account may depend on your bank, card issuer, or payment provider.
We cannot control processing times imposed by third-party payment providers.
10. Promotional and Discounted Purchases
Promotional, discounted, or special-offer purchases remain subject to the same statutory consumer rights as standard purchases.
A discount does not remove rights that cannot legally be excluded.
11. Statutory Consumer Rights
Nothing in this Return & Refund Policy is intended to limit or exclude your rights under applicable UK consumer-protection legislation.
Where digital content does not conform to the contract, consumers may have legal rights to an appropriate remedy depending on the circumstances.
These rights may include repair, replacement, price reduction, or other remedies provided by law.
12. Fraudulent or Abusive Refund Requests
We reserve the right to investigate refund requests where there is reasonable evidence of:
- Fraud;
- Unauthorised payment activity;
- Repeated abuse of refund procedures;
- False claims regarding digital products; or
- Unauthorised distribution or sharing of purchased e-books.
Any action we take will be subject to applicable law and your statutory consumer rights.
